I found this on Apple's site.
Enabling or disabling custom data formatters can cause variable values
in previously visited frames of the current call stack to get out of
sync with the debugger. After enabling or disabling custom data
formatters (Debug→Variables View→Enable Data Formatters) you need to
sync with the debugger (Debug→Sync With Debugger) or perform a step
operation (step, next, step instruction, next instruction) to update
the other stack frame's variables.
Here is a link to the page:

Thanks,
Joe

In the debug menu there is an option, "Sync with Debugger".
What does this DO? And, why can't I find this in the documentation?
I've done full-text searches for things like "debugger menu" "menu"
"menus", and (rather obviously "Sync with Debugger". None of the
results is the obvious answer to my question. At least, if it's there,
it's well buried under irrelevant results. There's something under
build styles, for eg, but searching these help files for "sync with"
or just "sync" doesn't lead me to what I want to know.
So, 2 questions:
Am I looking in the wrong place for this answer?
What is the answer? (ie what does it do?)
Thanks,
Markian
