I'm probably overlooking some very basic setup of X11 with the
following problem:
I'm using X11 for years to connect to a SGI and a LINUX machine to
run all sorts of program with graphical interface that opens on my
Mac. I connect with ssh -Y name@machine.
For the first time I tried now to connect to an other Mac (10.4.7) to
run a new version of software that was previously installed on the
LINUX system.
But instead of opening a window I get the famous:
/usr/X11R6/bin/xterm Xt error: Can't open display:
...
TclError: couldn't connect to display ":0.0"
I cant even open xeyes.
When I login into the remote Mac with Remote Desktop, the command
from my local mac opens now a window on the remote client (also
xeyes) and I can control the program and quit it on the remote Mac.
Should ssh -Y not take care of passing the DISPLAY information to the
client as it does it correctly on the remote LINUX system?
Regards
Bernd
