You might try ``ssh -Y'' instead of ``ssh -X''. Do you have
``ForwardX11Trusted yes'' in your /etc/ssh_config file?
I just tried running the gimp-2.2.4 on one of my SuSE 9.3 Professional
systems from a Mac Mini running a fully updated Tiger with no problems.
It's slower than running the fink gimp-1.2.5 natively on the Mac, and the
images seem to have some texturing depending on the magnification of the
gimp image -- which may be related to the screen resolution.
FWIW: gimp-1.2.5 on a SuSE 9.0 Professional system displays fine on the
Tiger box as well.

Marijuana will be legal some day, because the many law students
who now smoke pot will someday become congressmen and legalize
it in order to protect themselves.
