This should "just work". The kernel will automatically run ppc
programs under Rosetta. To see this for yourself do something like
the following on an intel mac:
$ lipo -thin ppc -output /tmp/xterm.ppc /usr/X11R6/bin/xterm
$ file /tmp/xterm.ppc
/tmp/xterm.ppc: Mach-O executable ppc
$ /tmp/xterm.ppc
and up will pop an xterm window running as a translated ppc program
talking to the i386 X server. If you find any X11 programs that don't
run correctly, please file bug reports,

On one hand, by the time Leopard arrives the need will be
much less, but on the other it would be a neat feature to
have for X11.app.
