Hello
I was trying to use (greek) accented in a X11 session, but with no luck :-(
To make sure that there were no unicode issues, I prefered to perform
my tests in a KDE application - kate.
FIrst of all, the keyboard switch doesn't work. When the "focus" is on
a X11 application, I can't change the flag from "US" to "Greek".
Luckily though, If I have selected the option "Use one input source in
all documents", click somewhere else (e.g. on the desktop) and then
again on the X application, the flag remains selected (and I can write
greek). Still this is annoying.
The most difficult problem is the composed characters. Accented
letters are produced by typing the accent and then the corresponginf
vowel. Unfortunately this doesn't happen. The accent doesn't appear on
the vowel, but first comes the accent and then the letter.
I've tested it with other accented characters too, from the latin1
charset. The situation is problematic too (e.g. when typing
alt+e+e)..
Any ideas?
