X11 quits immediately

Hi,

I have a recent, clean install of Tiger (10.4.7) on a MacBook. Today I tried installing X11 (from X11User.pkg) and it seems to install okay but then quits immediately.

The first time I ran it it asked me whether I wanted to move aside a previous ~/.xinitrc. I chose yes.

The following is the output from running it at the command line:

I don't have fink or darwin-ports or any other X server installed. I have previously had X11.app working without problem on an iBook.

I have also tried installing X11SDK which also installs fine but doesn't alleviate the X11.app problem.

Any ideas?
