I am not so sure if Apple responds quickly to them, especially

At least in my case, after bug reports which were considered to be
non-bugs were closed, I always got a mail from dts stating something
like "Engineering has determined the current behaviour is correct",
usually along with a note from engineering why they consider it correct.
If you get nothing, it usually seems to mean the fix is not yet in
publicly shipping software. I got 8 mails about closed bug reports
asking me to verify whether issues I reported were indeed fixed the
day Tiger shipped.
