Double-clicking an X app in the Finder has never been a good solution
for launching them; you've always gotten that extra Terminal window.

The advantage of Leopard is that you don't have to start X11.app
explicitly before starting an X program.  HOW you start the X program
hasn't changed, you just have one less step to take first.
