X Forwarding via ssh

  • Subject: X Forwarding via ssh

Hello,

Thanks first and foremost to all (esp Ben Byer and company) for their
assistance in making X11 useable again! I've been following this list
carefully and am currently running Xquartz 1.2a6 on my MBP. However, I
also have a MP that's running 1.2a3 at the moment (I think), and I've
changed the /etc/sshd_config file to enable X11Forwarding. After a
restart (since I don't know the clever way of doing that), I tried to
use in xterm on the MBP:

ssh -Y email@hidden to the MP machine, and yet when I run

echo $DISPLAY

I get nothing. What further steps do I need to take to get ssh
forwarding running? Both machines are running Leopard.

Thanks,
John.
