That's a problem with the X11 that ships with Leopard. I was really panicing when I first upgraded to leopard and found that I couldn't use my second monitor with X11. You need to install the test version available from:

   http://people.freedesktop.org/~bbyer/x11app/

with instructions at

   http://www.x.org/wiki/XDarwin
