I don't think I have read this exact bug/display issue from the posts coming in on this list. Here is the situation. I think I can describe it fairly easily. Since my context is when I am using multiple rdesktop windows at once, I'll describe it from that perspective. If I have one rdesktop window with a large resolution and another rdesktop window at a smaller resolution and move the smaller resolution rdesktop window directly over the larger resolution rdesktop window, clicking anywhere inside the smaller rdesktop window results in focus being applied to the larger rdesktop window IF and WHEN i use Expose to select the smaller rdesktop window. Let me say this another way so I am clear.
* Put smaller rdesktop window directly on top of larger rdesktop window where the smaller rdesktop window is completely within the bounds of the larger rdesktop window.
* Use Expose to get to another window, don't think it has to be another X window.
* Expose back to the smaller rdesktop window and then click somewhere on the window (it should still be within the bounds of the larger rdesktop window)
You will find that the underlying larger rdesktop window gains focus and not the smaller one. For me, this is a pain since I tend to end up with mulitple X rdesktop windows open and move them around a lot as I am working. I would assume this behavior would be true for any X windows with varying sizes where a smaller one can be placed on top of a larger one and be bound completely by the larger window. I also think this behavior is present in Tiger, but I no longer have any Tiger systems to verify.
I hope I have made sense. I described it the best I could. Let me know if I need to clarify anything. Can some others possibly verify this behavior using rdesktop or another X app completely where you can duplicate my scenario?
Thanks,
Jesse
