Starting X on remote hosts (Solaris)

  • Thread-topic: Starting X on remote hosts (Solaris)

While I've been having problems getting ssh to work from my Mac to a Solaris
box (running Solaris 9), I just tried it running to a Linux (Ubuntu) box.

Result: Ubuntu 1, Solaris 0

X started properly when I ran 'ssh -x <me>@<ubuntu>' and my display was set
to 'localhost:10.0'. Starting an Xterm worked as expected.

Something with Solaris is broken in some strange way. I'll have to spend
some time on it. Others (Tim Jenness) have had Solaris 8 work for them.

It's something I'm doing, or not doing.
