In dicussion on the DOCK for X11

Personally, having spent my formative years on a NeXT workstation and dealing with gui development and photoshop (instead of in front of a TV like most deliquents my age). I think a nice concept would be an ACCORDIAN effect - when the user goes over the X11 Icon in the doc, it will 'unfold' a list of 'sub-icons' that show each of the processes running under X11. This same thing can be done for objects running under Parallels or VMWare etc etc. This sub-icon unfolding would be perpendicular to the orientation of the dock that the user selects; that is it would unfold into the center of the screen.

Also the ICON in the DOCK can have the same visual effect as in NeXT - that is three little dots indicate the status of the icon. But perhaps instead of three dots it could be a dot per application running (again in X11, or VMware, etc) .

Frankly I wish Apple would use the same window controls as in X or at least NeXT. Where one can resize the window from any border AND that there be KeyStroke sequences for ALL menu's and menu items. I still hate using the mouse, rather use all six fingers. Seeking and clicking is just too slow, when it comes to menu selection and window frame manipulation.

My bits. Keep up the good work. I'm reading and would like to help; just no time (now)..
I'll wait till all these change are complete with X and OSX before migrating up from Tiger.
