Hi all,
as adviced here on this mailinglist I haven't set any DISPLY
variable nor do I have an .xinitrc that I'm aware of. Still
whenever I log in as non-admin or administrator open a terminal and
type "xterm &" in order to start an xterm and with it X11 I only
get the error:
xterm Xt error: Can't open display:
Manually setting the DISPLAY to "/tmp/ launchd-xxxxx/:0" didn't
solve the problem either instead it ends up in the error message:
xterm Xt error: Can't open display: /tmp/ launchd-xxxxx/:0
and only with Ctrl+C I get back to a working Terminal.
I tried unset DISPLAY but this didn't help either.
So what's messed up. Any advice is welcomed.
This is second Generation Mac Mini with Intel CoreDuo, Mac OS X
10.5, Xquartz 1.2a8 updated via "Install and Archive" from Mac OS X
10.4.10.
Regards,
Eric Hoch
