[Slightly OT] Apple Radar Bug Reports (Was: Re: When X11 crashes, and you submit a bug report . . .)

Are there any suggestions you can give to make sure that ADC gets the bug to the right group? I've had a simple bug (with the patch to fix it) filed for the past 8 months, and it has not even been responded to.

#5075341 - /usr/include/rpcsvc/yp_prot.h has missing includes

It's a simple fix, and this lack of response from Apple has been quite frustrating. Before this recent more open-source friendly X11 development, I thought Apple was content filing user bug reports in / dev/null. I certainly hope other aspects of development (especially BSD related and bug reports) become more open-source friendly.

Where does it go?

Do Ben or other people on this list who are at apple see it? I'm asking
because 1.2a10 crashed so often for me I went back to 1.2a9.

For each crash, when the 'submit this bug' dialog appeared, I submitted a
bug. Do I need to do something else for this group?

This is what happens for the "submit this bug" button in the crash dialog:
1. Crash log is filed in a database at Apple
2. When enough similar crash logs arrive, a bug report is automatically created
3. Bug report is sent to X11 group
4. Ben Byer reads bug report

This is what happens if you submit a bug report at http://bugreport.apple.com :
1. Bug report is sent to Apple Developer Connection
2. ADC forwards bug to X11 group
3. Ben Byer reads bug report

If you have a reproducible crash with instructions or code to make it occur, bugreport.apple.com is better than the "submit this bug" button. Be sure to specify which X11 version you're using, and any X11 configuration changes you've made.
