Something that helped me (I had the same problem)

Download: http://www.opensource.apple.com/darwinsource/10.5/X11server-46/org.x.X11.plist

Place the file in /System/Library/LaunchAgents/

Then run:
sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchAgents/org.x.X11.plist

You may need to reboot here...

Yes, I did.

That should fix the problem though.

Was the idea of a guy named Phil White(so, thank you Phil)

My thanks to the both of you. That fixed it. I have my xterms back. =)
