It's *always* been unstable. At first, the event handling didn't
work at all so it wasn't usable; then, once I'd rewritten mouse and
keyboard support, it seemed "okay" (meaning xterm worked). Months
later, I tried running Eagle (ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/eagle/program/4.16r2/eagle-m11-eng-4.16r2.tgz
is a free demo; ppc binary runs under rosetta), and as soon as I
started clicking in menus, it crashed. (There's got to be an easier
repro than that; I'll start looking for one).
Ok, well I made a new xorg-server-1.4-apple branch. It's based off of
server-1.4 branch with our xorg-server-1.2-apple branch changes merged
(cherry-picked) into it. I then did some cleanup in hw/darwin on both
xorg-server-1.2-apple and xorg-server-1.4-apple to make the code
better line-up with eachother (whitespace cleanup, etc) and further
updates to just get xorg-server-1.4-apple to compile... and that's
about all it does right now. Input events don't even work (which was
expected at this point).
I am off to sleep now...
