XQuartz quextion

I've just started reading this list and see there are some Xquartz hacks available to correct some pretty ugly problems with the Leopard X implementation. Is there a well-known site with changelog info where one can make intelligent decisions about updating this file?

Is there a definitive work published and blessed by Apple to regress to the Tiger version of X on Leopard?

Has there been a statement issued describing how this awful product was included in the Leopard distribution? There may be a silver lining I've missed.

Disappointed in Seattle
