Installing X11 from Tiger

  • Subject: Installing X11 from Tiger

In a previous mailing bbyer suggested a work-around for some of Leopard's X11 problems was to reinstall X11 from Tiger. I have attempted to do that but was not successful. When I run the X11User.pkg from the Tiger installation disk it refuses to install, saying a newer version of X11 is already installed. This is, of course, correct as I have the version from Leopard.

Since X11 is installed as a part of Leopard how can I remove it so that I can reinstall the version from Tiger? Some clumsy attempts like renaming X11.app and removing the receipts from /Library/Receipts/ boms didn't fool it.

So, how can I revert to Tiger's X11?

Thanks,

Brad
