I found one error I made: it should be DISPLAY=:0. After that the
command
worked.
NO. Never set DISPLAY on Leopard. Just use the environment variable
that is set for you by launchd.
I discovered that while I had exited xterm, I hadn't actually Quit
the app.
It was still sitting in the Dock. After I did Quit, an xterm would
appear
when I started X11 or gnuplot.
But after a logout/login, neither of the changes took effect. Any
suggestions what I might be doing wrong?
Do you have a ~/.xinitrc file that is not executing xrdb or xmodmap?
Try just using the system .xinitrc since it runs xmodmap and xrdb for
you on your ~/.Xresources and ~/.Xmodmap filesAttachment:
