I figured out the cause of this bug. The fix will be in the next
RC... for now, the workaround is just doing an 'rm -rf /tmp/.X*' from
inside Terminal.app or checking the 'Allow connections from network
clients' checkbox in X11 Preferences.

When this happens, can someone please provide the output of the
following while X11 is running and without the GUI elements:
ps aux | grep X11
ls -l /tmp/.X*
The issue is that xinit.c is waiting for the X server to start
accepting connections before executing xinitrc... but it can't
connect to the server. It uses the standard unix socket to make its
connection whereas your xterm was started using the launchd socket.
I want to see if there's some weird error in telling Xquartz which
displayNum to use, and that would most likely be visible on the
command line to Xquartz.

Hello
After a X11 crash the X11 windows, e.g. xterm, does not show the
title bar and they don't also appear in the Window drop down menu
of X11. Only a computer restart fixes the problem.
I'm using 2.2.0 rc2. This didn't happen with 2.1.4.
Sincerely
