Also, I hide the dock, so I don't want the dock's space subtracted
either.
So, two people and two completely different opinions.... sounds like
more preference options to me :-)
The wm_limit_size fix has worked for me for years. All it does (in
Leopard) is prevent new windows being created larger than the actual
screen size (not the size reported by xdpyinfo for the primary screen,
but the real useable size without the menubar included).
If I remember correctly, in Tiger, it also limited you to only being
able to use the primary screen for X11, but this is no longer a
limitation in Leopard (I'm assuming this is one of the positive side-
effects of moving to X.org).
