I have been using X11 on OS X heavily for many years. For the most part I am
very happy with the results, but there is one thing that would go a long way
towards making X11 feel more like OS X.
I'd like the ability to create an application or config file of some sort that
could launch a new X11 server (hopefully showing up in the OS X application list
with a different name and icon than the regular server) and then run a command.
If this was possible then you would be able to run an X11 server for each major
application that you are using so that it would act like it is an OS X
application. For example, one server could be used for gimp, another for xterm
and another for an xterm running alpine. All 3 would show up as OS X
applicatons and would behave as such.
So, is this idea total stupid? Would anyone else out there like this ability?
Does anyone have any idea what would need to be done?
