Maybe I'm wrong but wouldn't you end up with 3 icons in dock and 3
X11.app for a total of 6 app running?
What would the advantage in this compared to having 3+1 apps? I'm
talking about packages like Gimp.app and Inkscape.app for example.
The goal, from what I understand, is that there would just be one
Gimp.app icon (which is for the X11 server associated with it). The
droplet or whatever would not exist.
IMHO what should be focused is a standard wrapper interface between
a process using X11 and a Cocoa app.
Actually when I run Gimp.app to bring it up I have to command-tab to
X11.app,
X11->Preferences->Windows->Focus On New Windows
