I am very new to all of this, but any help would be appreciated!
I recently upgraded my X11 installation from 2.1.1 to 2.1.3. After
the upgrade, I am unable to reliably open xterms. The following error
appears in the console log:
2/8/08 1:42:13 PM org.x.X11[474] _X11TransSocketINETConnect() can't
get address for 0:6000: nodename nor servname provided, or not known
2/8/08 1:42:13 PM org.x.X11[474] xterm Xt error: Can't open display: 0:0
My original path to all of this was to install X11 from the Leopard
Install DVD, and then do the upgrade to 2.1.1 by downloading from http://trac.macosforge.org/projects/xquartz
. I had several major issues with the Leopard version which were
resolved by upgrading to 2.1.1.
If I downgrade to 2.1.1, everything works fine.
My guess is that 2.1.3 requires some different setup that I am not
aware of.
Thanks for you help.
Walt
