Thanks for the nice words, everyone...
We've gotten a lot accomplished since Leopard was released, but there
are still many difficult road blocks ahead. As Ben mentioned a few
months ago, this is an impossible task for one person to handle alone,
and I'm glad that many of you in the community have been lending your
support in everything from bug reporting, to bug fixing, to teaching
me new things.
I look forward to continuing this work in the most transparent way
possible... meaning that I will continue to put out the same updates
at xquartz.macosforge.org and still rigorously push to get all Apple
changes into x.org's mainline distribution (If I recall, there are
only 3 patches that aren't in x.org's git yet).

It's my pleasure to announce that Jeremy Huddleston has recently
started
an internship with Apple working on X11. As you all know, Jeremy has
made many contributions to the X.org project relating to the Mac OS X
platform, and we are very excited to have him on our team.
Please join me in welcoming Jeremy,
Not sure if Jeremy or Apple deserve the congratulations - probably the
latter.
I am happy that Jeremy will now get paid for all his great work :)
Peter
