The 10.5.2 upgrade has left me with X11.app 2.1.1 - (xorg-server 1.3.0-
apple5). I've seen the following on *all* of my machines, which
include various intel and ppc macs.
1. Resizing a window while a program is starting or loading data will
often cause X11 to freeze. This is reproducible for example with the
molecular graphics display program coot. Accessing scroll bars or
menus can also induce this behavior. Sampling the process to unfreeze
X11 no longer works either.
2. If an Xwindows program is running in spaces desktop 1, and an OS X
app is displayed in one of the other spaces desktops in such a way
that its window has similar coordinates, simply mousing over the OS X
app will activate tool tips and switch the desktop to spaces desktop 1.
3. If an X11 window is iconified into the dock, and I use fast user
switching, when I return I see a big white blank space where the
original window was before it was iconified to the dock, i.e.,

4. When I click on the window iconified to the dock, it returns to
that position, but a smaller white blank space remains:

5. I've used X11 since it was first available as a 3rd party install
on OS X, which was at least as early as 10.1. I've never had
instability problems until this upgrade. Now X11 is almost unusable.
I'll be happy to do whatever it takes to help debug the instability
issues. I can live with all of the other irritations, but I can't work
with an unstable X server.
