The 10.5.2 upgrade has left me with X11.app 2.1.1 - (xorg-server
1.3.0-apple5). I've seen the following on *all* of my machines,
which include various intel and ppc macs.
1. Resizing a window while a program is starting or loading data
will often cause X11 to freeze. This is reproducible for example
with the molecular graphics display program coot. Accessing scroll
bars or menus can also induce this behavior. Sampling the process
to unfreeze X11 no longer works either.
Can you send me some of those samples you took while it was frozen?
I've never seen this.
5. I've used X11 since it was first available as a 3rd party
install on OS X, which was at least as early as 10.1. I've never had
instability problems until this upgrade. Now X11 is almost unusable.
I'll be happy to do whatever it takes to help debug the instability
issues. I can live with all of the other irritations, but I can't
work with an unstable X server.
Is issue number 1 the only thing that makes it unstable, or are you
seeing problems you didn't list here?
