Well, I don't know if I'd call it a fork so much as "holding back".
The specific change in question is actually targeted at X11R7.5 (xorg-
server-1.6... probably early 2010)... so nothing will really be using
the GenericEvent in the short-term future with X11R7.4. The reversion
is still actually keeping us on X11R7.4 for the client-side.
I'll obviously move us back to the new X.h/Xproto.h once there is a
workaround in place for tcl/tk.

Well, Jeremy has already clarified that he is going to REVERT the
change in question, so I guess it is our decision to fork from X.org
(in one admittedly very small detail) until they figure out how to
harmonize their bits with the Tk folks.
