Can I make a selfish request that if you do decide to go with the new
X.h/Xproto.h that this change is held back from the Apple distributed
X11 until Snow Leopard? Otherwise it seems like a major breakage to
occur in a minor point release OS update, especially if its a change
that isn't necessary until 2010.
I say this because I know even if tcl/tk is fixed, the app that I need
will be permenantly broken by this change, as it relies on its own
internal version of tcl/tk that isn't easy to update to the latest
revision. Its worked fine for the last 10 years over Solaris, Linux
and now OS X (up to the latest version), so it'd seem a shame to have
it break!
FYI the fact that this app works on OS X has lead to the purchase of
10 Mac Pros and an XServe at my work, where we were previously a
Solaris/Linux only shop. ;)
