Upgrade (10.5->10.5.3) seems to break X11

Hi-
I'm wanting to upgrade from OSX Leopard 10.5 to 10.5.3, but the upgrade
seems to break X11. After the upgrade X11 will try to start after being
launched, but will exit immediately (exit code 0). Launchd will
occasionally try to bring it back up every so often, but it'll only stay
running for less than a second before it disappears again. Again, I'm
fairly sure the upgrade was what broke X, but it's also possible that
something that was installed immediately after the upgrade caused the
failure as well.
Can anyone confirm that this isn't a problem specific to this
particular machine, and suggest a fix that doesn't require staying with
the stock install of 10.5?
Since this is the stock version of X11, it's compiled without debugging
symbols, but I can post output from GDB (or strace, provided I can find
it).
