If you're on 100bT or faster then direct X11 will be faster than those others. This can be important if you're running something remotely that's only available on the remote system (e.g. some commercial programs).


Hm, head check: in theory all that's needed to make this work is have launchd listen on 6000/tcp while X11.app isn't running, right? I think launchd can be told to do that....
