I am a latecomer to Leopard, having just installed it yesterday on my
titanium Powerbook, updated to 10.5.3, and run Migration Assistant to bring
everything over from the old hard drive.

When I try to start X11, either by clicking X11 or starting an xterm from a
Terminal window, it just hangs. I am downloading this package now to see
if that fixes this problem.

My main reason for posting though isn't that, but in reaction to the
section ``Deprecated Software''. I strongly think that it is a very Bad
Idea(tm) to leave the imake and xmkmf out of the package as this breaks
packages that require these to build. It's not as though this part of X11
is huge or changes frequently.

Doing a quick check through the OpenPKG portable package management
system's packages, I find the following packages that use these, and there
are some others like ``ddd'' that I didn't see with this check.

	magicpoint slide show
	tightvnc
	x11-ssh-askpass
	xfig Vector Drawing
transfig Vector Drawing (used by xfig)
	viewfax fast tiff/f fax viewer
	xaw3d
	xpm

Of these, I use xfig/transfig and viewfax frequently.
