If you are talking about opening the Dictionary for 'System Events' in
the applescript editor, then that works for me without issue. I do
notice that X11 doesn't appear in the Dictionary which likely means
that it is not applescriptable.
There is no 'application' "System Events", unless that is something
that you've downloaded in which case, it probably needs to be
recompiled.
So, without knowing what it is you are trying to do, I don't have any
further suggestions.

Pretty vanilla 10.5.3 on PPC hardware. The "About" menu on X11 says,
"X11.app 2.2.1 - (xorg-server 1.3.0-apple5)".
