See Wikipedia, which refers to it as "a C language binding for the X
Window System", probably because the authors originally called it "an
X Protocol C Binding", and "a replacement for Xlib".

But I see what you mean.  I think what you originally meant to say
was, "in my opinion, most of the non-C implementations should be
following the xcb approach, generating their code from the XML files
contained in the xcb release".  Which is certainly a point of view.
