If it doesn't work with :0, check what unix socket it's using... it
may be using :1 because :0 was locked. You can check this using 'ps x
| grep X'

Since updating to 2.1.4, I've noticed that sometimes a program
trying
to connect to DISPLAY=":0.0" will work, and sometimes it won't.
That's launchd's doing; it allows launchd to start X the first time
it's
needed. It's part of /System/Library/LaunchAgents/org.x.X11.plist.
I'm
guessing that if X is already running then :0.0 works.
It's not that simple, because I invariably start X11 by clicking its
Dock icon. I don't know what the difference is between the "works"
and "doesn't work" cases, but it's not the launch method.
