First, I notice that the installer no longer insists on a logout.
But it seems like it should.
Why do you think it should?
For no theoretical reason I can think of, other than what happened.
At first, X11 would freeze with a spinning beach ball when I
opened the preferences window, and needed to be force quit.
This is the first I've heard of it. Do you have a sample of the
problem?
Unfortunately, no, or I would have sent it along. But before I could
think of that, my system had become unusable.
Then emacs (cocoa, not X) started crashing, and Terminal froze up.
Well, this seems unrelated.
That's what I thought, and you're probably right. But the coincidence
... my system has been extremely stable lately, so when things go
haywire immediately after a software upgrade, naturally one suspects
the upgrade.
Ok... so it looks to me like you just had some bad luck with your
system since Terminal, Cocoa emacs, etc failed too.
You're probably right, but I felt that I should report it anyhow in
case it happens to more people. So long as it doesn't (and it works
fine for me now), I certainly don't expect any actions on your part.
