There is "somewhere" in Mac OS a setting the determines how much
memory is allowed to be used to store data for scrollback. If I
remember correctly it is one of the "hidden" settings. I changed it
to a lower value in Tiger but Leopard evidently has the default set
lower already.
Sorry I cant be more helpful.

Hi Jonathan,
That's correct. If you don't have an ADC account, click the 'sign
up' button and I think the third or fourth option is the 'Web ADC
Membership' or something like that which is free and gets you access
to file bugs.
Also, I must admit to being almost completely naive when it comes to
terminal settings. I just take what I'm given in most cases, but
this sounds atleast partially related to a pet peeve of mine. I use
screen, but text that is scrolled off is gone to me (although if I
maximize the window, I'll get some back). I'd like to be able to
scroll the terminal up to see what had passed, but I just see what
was there before I started screen.
Sorry if I'm not much help, but if these issues are somehow related,
then I'd like to follow your radar and figure out a fix.

I'm new to the Apple process, but I did a quick web search for
"radar apple,"
and it seems that what I should do is go to bugreport.apple.com,
create an ADC
account, and follow the steps from there? If that's the right plan,
I'm happy to
do that of course!
