How to change languages

Hi!
 
   I'm a new user of the Mac OS/X and of the X11, so I need a little help. I trying to use a software on my MacBook that has a Brazilian Portuguese translation (pt_BR), but every time I'd opened the software it appears in the Portuguese (pt). The software is called gretl (http://gretl.sourceforge.net/osx.html), and it uses the X Window System to run on Mac.
