According to a reply on the Xquartz-dev list, it is an rdesktop
problem in that a newer version was required:

I did have it set from working with MATLAB... I have unset it,
completely removed macports and started again installing just
rdesktop. The problem is the same.
Attached is an updated crash log that hopefully doesn't have anything
fishy in it.
There was a thread last week on this list with exactly the same
crash report. AFAICT, the problem was not resolved.
