Serious regression with window focus in 2.3.3_rc5

  • Subject: Serious regression with window focus in 2.3.3_rc5

I'm still seeing the problem that every so often X11 drops keyboard
focus and regains it after a second or so. (I think that iCal is
the culprit, although there may be others --- one thing I have seen
repeatedly is that these events happen exactly one minute before an
iCal alarm is due to pop up.) Up to now, that just meant that a couple
of keystrokes went into the aether. Annoying as that was, it's not
half as bad as 2.3.3_rc5: what is happening now is that when focus is
regained it may be shifted to a different window, and so your keystrokes
go to the wrong application. That will put 2.3.3 into the "unusable"
category if it's not fixed :-(

I did not test rc4 so I'm not sure if it had the same issue. I am
pretty sure rc3 did not have the problem.

			regards, tom lane
