Hi Jeremy,
Regarding your suggestion to make universal builds---I'm frequently
getting the following error after invoking make:
gcc-4.2: -E, -S, -save-temps and -M options are not allowed with
multiple -arch flags
A little research seems to suggest that the proper fix for this is
to include --disable-dependency-tracking when I configure. I've
tried this, and it does seem to eliminate the error.
Is this indeed the right approach, or can you recommend something
else?
Nope, that's it.
Note that some autoconf packages require special tweaking since they
check sizeof() and endianness at configure time rather than build
time. This is worked around in all the X11 packages, but you should
be aware of it when building packages in the wild.
