What is stated in the FAQ works for me, at least for Inkscape. It
seems to have no effect for Gimp. But perhaps there is a Gimp-
specific gtkrc file that overrides ~/.gtkrc.
It doesn't have any effect on Inkscape here.
Or, better: the font family setting DOES have an effect on both Gimp
and Inkscape, but the font *size* does not. So the settings file
appears to be read, just the size setting is not used.
Just to be clear, I'm following what is written in http://forums.macosxhints.com/showpost.php?p=479602&postcount=47
:
If the fonts are too small in the menus, menubar, etc. of GnuCash,
Inkscape, and Gimp, remember that they all use the GTK2 toolkit, so
you change font sizes using the GTK2 way:
If you don't have ~/.gtkrc-2.0, create it, containing the single line:
Code:
gtk-font-name = "geneva 12"
Of course, you can choose different font names and sizes, but this
is a good starting value.
Indeed, I'm already using the ~/.gtkrc-2.0 file as Sebastian (and the
FAQ) suggests. Are you using a ~/.gtkrc file instead?
Thanks.
