For the record, this is exactly what happens on an Ubuntu box with X
only running a xterm and fvwm. The image is sized to the whole
screen, with the image aligned correctly at the bottom and the title
bar
off the top of the screen.
Ok, well what's going on here is quartz-wm doesn't allow the title bar
to be off the top of the screen and moves the window down.
xv is "doing it wrong", IMO. It should be using hints to enable
fullscreen mode or request no decorations.
