Yes, this has been reported on some forums. There is a workaround,
but we're still not sure the cause.
Mac OSX 10.4 should have /usr/X11R6/lib/libexpat.0.4.dylib and /usr/
X11R6/lib/libexpat.0.dylib as a symlink to it. Tiger never had
libexpat.1.0.dylib.
XDarwin may have provided libexpat.1.0.dylib. Did you ever install
XDarwin on Tiger? Additionally, an X11 version for Panther was
reported to contain libexpat.1.0.dylib. Did you upgrade to Tiger from
Panther and not select the X11 package during installation? This
could be a culprit.
libexpat.0.dylib was not touched in the recent security update. The
only library in /usr/X11R6 that was updated in Tiger was libfreetype.
For now, you can most likely work around this by creating a symlink
from libexpat.0.dylib to libexpat.1.0.dylib.
Any further input you can give which would let us know how your system
got into this configuration would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Hi,
I recently did a software update (June 3, 2009) for Mac OS X Tiger
(10.4.11) running on a Mac mini (PowerPC). I noticed that some X11
libraries were updated. However, I no longer get a xterm opening
automatically after starting X11. Using the Console, I see the
following messages:

Is there some way to resolve this, i.e., to get xterm working
again? I have tried using open-x11, but this generates the same
error.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Sincerely,
