Someone else reported this (via email), and the reporter never opened
a bug report, so it slipped my mind. Could you please put this in a
bug report at http://xquartz.macosforge.org, and I'll look into the
problem.
Thanks,
Jeremy

I have 2 Mac systems. One is a Macbook with a Core2Duo CPU and the

Quartz 2.4.0 (but this problem has existed for a while).
When I try to connect to a remote system with Xnest, I get an X
window that is black and the terminal from which I started Xnest has:
(EE) AIGLX error: dlopen of /usr/X11/lib/dri/swrast_dri.so failed
(dlopen(/usr/X11/lib/dri/swrast_dri.so, 5): image not found)
(EE) GLX: could not load software renderer
(EE) XKB: Couldn't open rules file /usr/X11/share/X11/xkb/rules/base
(EE) XKB: No components provided for device Virtual core keyboard
Couldn't get keyboard.
Eventually the session will return "too many retransmissions -
declaring session dead." Most of these are Red Hat Enterprise Linux
(v4 and v5) that are configured for xdmcp sessions (I have a MS
Windows machine with Xming that can connect via xdmcp). I can run X
Window apps if I connect via 'ssh -X,' but sometimes I need the full
desktop.
One particular system is a Solaris 9 server. On this server, not
even 'ssh -X' works because for some reason the DISPLAY variable
isn't being set and all attempts to set it manually result in the
standard "unable to open display.' Since 'ssh -X' works with other
system, I suspect this particular problem is a result of the config
on the Solaris system. However, it has the same errors as above
with Xnest.
Does anyone have any suggestions to either of these problems? I've
tried the few results I have found via google, but none worked.
Thank you for your time.
John
