Dear X11-users,

I am trying to use fink in order to install a software on my mac. So, I followed the instructions at this page:

http://www.simplehelp.net/2007/05/09/how-to-install-linux-applications-in-os-x-a-complete-walkthrough/

When I try to update fink, aw suggested in the link above, this message pops up:

------------------------------

Building Dependency Tree...

Sorry, fink is already the newest version.

You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:

Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies:

xfree86: Depends: xfree86-shlibs (>= 4.5.0-1040) but it is not going to be installed

Conflicts: xfree86-base-threaded

Conflicts: system-xfree86 but 2:4.4-2 is to be installed

E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

------------------------------

Should I ignore it? Or should I try to install xfree86-shlibs?

I also typed 'sudo apt-get -f install' but I get this message:

----------------------------------

Building Dependency Tree... Done

Correcting dependencies... Done

The following extra packages will be installed:

xfree86-shlibs

The following packages will be REMOVED:

You have an existing X11 installation in /usr/X11R6/lib.

This package refuses to overwrite these. Remove them, then tell Fink to

install xfree86-shlibs again. (The package won't be recompiled.)

Press Return to continue.

I don't understand what is happening...I have a working X11. Where is the problem?

Thanks a lot,
