The fact that it's a BadValue message makes me think this might be a
64bit issue. Did you rebuild exmh after updating to SL? If so, it's
probably a 64bit binary now. Do you have your old 32bit binary
around
to try if that's the case? If you're using the old 32bit version,
then I'm at a bit of a loss without seeing more information. Can you
give me information on how you built this binary, so I can try
reproducing it (fink, macports, website, by hand, etc...)?
Hmm. Actually exmh is a Tcl program running on a remote host,
Ok, what kind of host? Can you send me the binary or tell me how to
build it? Hopefully I can replicate the environment.
so it
hasn't been rebuilt for the SL changeover and shouldn't need to be.
Ok, then this isolates the client side... the only thing "differnet"
now is the server side... which is a bit odd since everything server-
side about font handling is not darwin specific... and that's been
working on x86_64 on linux/bsd for quite some time now...
It does look a bit like a 64-bit issue, what with the nonzero high-
order
bits in the reported value, but if so I'm thinking the problem is on
the X11 server side :-(. Is there any convenient way to get the X
server to log the client requests and responses? I'd be happy to send
you a log if that would help.
I think getting it reproducible in my environment would be easier at
this point, so let's try that first.
Once i have the binary, what do I need to do to trigger the issue?
