Yes, that "somebody" was me. I released it yesterday, mainly to
address the freetype vulnerabilities announced last week, but it
provided an opportunity to roll in that ppc fix as well...

Hi Jeremy,
Thanks, someone was kind enough to post a 2.5.2 with your fix 415.
The 2.5.2 appears to be working fine for me on PPC machine. See

I've already decided to releaes a Leopard version of the first
2.6.0_alpha1, so ppc users can easily update if they don't want to
grab that X11.bin ... the first alpha will essentially be the same
but bumping up to the 1.9 server.

Or release a 2.5.1.1, perhaps.

Thanks, would it be possible to prevent the X11 auto-update from
trying to upgrade PPC
machines to 2.5.1, and/or at least put an errata on the download

about the PPC crashes?

This is a known issue with ppc machines. See the closed bug
report for the fix:

I have just updated two PPC machines running MacOS 10.5.8 from
XQuartz 2.5.0 to the new XQuartz 2.5.1,
and both exhibit the same symptoms. I have both console and
crashreporter logs, but don't know how to
report the issue on xquartz.macosforge.org without assigning
the bug to myself. I don't have the expertise to
work on it, I'm merely a user :-).
How do I report the issues with the new verison of X11?
