No xauth data; using fake authentication data

  • Subject: No xauth data; using fake authentication data

I thought I saw a comment about this a while back, but I can't find
it in the mailing list archives. Since installing 2.5.0, when I:

  ssh -X remotehost

I always get:

Warning: No xauth data; using fake authentication data for X11 forwarding.

I've Googled this and there are lots of hints, but none of them seem
to correct the problem.

Any ideas?

TIA,

Doug
